Julie and Daisy

Instructor - Julie Seery

Julie has been an instructor at Team Tutsham for many years. Under her tuition, many of the children at Team Tutsham have progressed from complete beginners to the accomplished young riders that they are today.

Joining in a Donkey Derby ride on a Butlins family holiday at the age of four, proved to be a life changing moment for Julie. After many, many, rides that day she caught the riding bug. Julie soon began riding lessons when the family returned home and her future took a new path!

After leaving school, Julie began working at Highstead Riding Centre, where she achieved her BHS Stages 1, 2 and 3, and NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Horse Care. 1994 bought with it the new challenge of working as a Showjumping Groom and later a Show Groom which Julie excelled at.  This position also gave Julie the opportunity to compete at affiliated level both in hand and under saddle.

Julie and Buster

A keen Western rider, Julie achieved 3rd place in Horsemanship at the WES Nationals with her much loved American Quarter Horse, Buster, against some of the best Western riders in the United Kingdom.  Julie and Buster's partnership continued and together the successfully competed locally and nationally in Western riding.

Julie continued her education and in 2007 gained a Horse Diploma at Hadlow College. Julie is also a BHS approved First Aider.

Throughout her career Julie has taught children and adults to ride or improve their riding, including riders competing at affiliated level.

In addition to teaching, Julie has experience in all aspects of foaling.

We are so happy to have someone with Julie's equestrian experience at part of our team. She is always keen to listen and offer advice with riding and horse care queries and despite not living locally to Tutsham, often travels to offer extra support to our riders that compete locally and goes the extra mile travelling out to support them at competitions or other riding events.
